Review and Adaptation

As an author Ron writes about unusual stories from familiar places. Three of his books The Acorn People, The Wave and B-Ball have been made into Emmy and Peabody Award TV dramas. His book about teenagers in a psychiatric ward, Kids Called Crazy was nominated for a Pulitzer. And Say Ray the true story of a mentally disabled man abducted to Mexico, Elvis and the second coming of Jesus, has been honored as the American Book of the Year. Ron’s story The Wave about his classroom experiment in Fascism has been adapted into a novel by Todd Strasser and a documentary film Lesson Plan by Philip Neel.
